The Alcohol and Other Drugs Coordinatorposition is well suited to someone with relevant qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs, Mental Health, community services, social and emotional wellbeing or a related discipline, with an understanding of Aboriginal cultural values, and commitment to the advancementand self-determination of Aboriginal communities.

As the Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Coordinator, you'll lead the day-to-day delivery of AOD services across Katherine West communities, making sure our work is culturally secure, trauma-informed, person-centred and guided by what communities tell us matters most. You'll work closely with our Primary Health Care and Healing & Wellbeing teams to develop, implement and review client care plans, weaving AOD support into broader care and helping clients connect with specialist mental health and other services when they need them. You'll also partner with communities, cultural leaders and KWHB teams to plan and deliver community-based prevention, education and harm reduction activities that respond to local needs and priorities.

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Provide specialist AOD assessment, counselling,brief interventions and harm reduction support to clients, and provide appropriate AOD education and support tofamilies and carers.
• Support staff through day-to-day practiceguidance, shared planning and capability development to strengthen culturally safe andevidence-informed AOD practice.
• Provide professional mentoring, practice guidance and workforce development to thecommunity-based Aboriginal workforce, strengthening culturally safe, traumainformedand evidence-informed AOD practice.
• Build and maintain effective partnerships and referral pathways with AOD treatmentproviders, Continuing Care Coordination services, cultural leaders, communityorganisations and other government and non-government services to supportcoordinated AOD responses.
• Maintain accurate client records and service data and contribute to programmonitoring and reporting, ensuring information is recorded in Communicare and otherrequired systems and supports client care, service planning, performance monitoringand funding requirements.

Congress is seeking an experienced Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychologist to join the Child, Youth and Assessment & Treatment Service (CYATS) team in Alice Springs/Mparntwe.

This is an exciting opportunity to provide comprehensive neuropsychological assessment and clinical recommendations for Aboriginal children and young people experiencing a range of neurodevelopmental disorders and complex conditions.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to assessment, diagnosis and intervention planning across conditions including Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD).

The CYATS team is expanding its capacity to provide services remotely, providing an opportunity for clinicians to work across both Alice Springs and surrounding remote communities.

You will work alongside a dedicated multidisciplinary team including:

The team works closely with Paediatricians and other medical specialists from Alice Springs Hospital, as well as allied health professionals across Government community health services.

You will also have access to specialised training and resources relating to FASD assessment and diagnosis through partnerships with external providers and research organisations.

• Manage a complex caseload, providing evidence based and culturally safe neuropsychological assessment and treatment recommendations.




• Conduct comprehensive diagnostic neuropsychological assessments for children and young people.




• Prepare high quality multidisciplinary diagnostic reports and recommendations, including reports supporting NDIS access where applicable.




• Contribute to clinical case formulation and intervention planning.




• Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and collaborative care planning.




• Apply contemporary clinical practice standards and culturally responsive approaches to Aboriginal Social and Emotional Wellbeing.




• Provide clinical supervision to less experienced practitioners when required.




• Contribute to the development of clinical practices, procedures and protocols.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Master's degree or higher in Clinical Neuropsychology.




• Full AHPRA registration with Clinical Neuropsychology endorsement.




• Demonstrated experience in diagnostic neuropsychological assessment, case formulation and behavioural intervention.




• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team.




• Strong neuropsychological report writing and clinical recommendation skills.




• An understanding of Aboriginal culture, cultural sensitivities and issues affecting Aboriginal communities.
