Reporting to the Child Development Services Manager, you will provide clinical leadership in the assessment and diagnosis of children and adolescents with complex neurodevelopmental presentations. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing specialist clinical psychology assessment, diagnostic and consultation services for children and adolescents with complex neurodevelopmental needs.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate extensive experience in paediatric clinical psychology and specialist expertise in the assessment of neurodevelopmental disorders.

You will have:

• A degree qualification recognised by the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) and current general registration as a Psychologist.
• Clinical Psychology Area of Practice Endorsement with the Psychology Board of Australia.
• Advanced skills in the assessment of children with complex developmental, cognitive and behavioural presentations.
• Demonstrated expertise in the assessment and management of neurodevelopmental disorders, including autism spectrum disorder, intellectual disability, developmental delay and learning disorders.
• Broad post graduate experience working with paediatric clients with complex needs.
• Experience providing clinical supervision, mentoring and education to students and less experienced clinicians.

The Role

As a Psychologist, you'll provide assessment, intervention and consultation supports to children and young people aged 0-18 years and their families. The Pain Service Senior Clinical Psychologist P3 is an exciting new role at Mercy Hospital for Women in Heidelberg. The Senior Clinical Psychologist provides psychological assessment, case formulation, psychoeducation and evidence based psychological interventions to outpatients of the Gynaecology Persistent Pelvic Pain Partnership Pathway (P5) Clinic. The Child Health and Parenting Service is seeking a Lead Psychologist to join our new residential unit.

The Child Health and Parenting Service provides Primary Healthcare services to Families in Tasmania with children under the age of five, including health and development assessment, connection to other services, and a wide range of Parenting Support. The new Intensive Residential Parenting Unit will add to the current community support available, offering families the option of admission to a residential setting with focussed support for a wide range of parenting concerns, including parent and caregiver mental health and wellbeing. The unit is staffed by a nursing-led multidisciplinary team, working alongside the wider CHaPS network and with core connections with services across the Tasmanian service landscape, to deliver co-ordinated, comprehensive care in partnership with families.

As the Clinical Lead Psychologist within the Intensive Residential Parenting Unit, you will provide specialist psychological assessment, intervention and care coordination for parents and caregivers experiencing challenges to their mental health and wellbeing. Working as part of the multidisciplinary team, you will lead the planning and delivery of care for families, provide expert clinical advice, build strong partnerships with internal and external service providers, and contribute to the development of policies, programs and services that support positive outcomes for parents, infants and families.
