Foundation House adopts a holistic and integrated approach to meeting the complex needs of our refugee background clients and their communities to ensure the application of trauma-informed principles and trauma focused interventions.

As a Counsellor Advocate, you will work with the Foundation House Trauma Recovery Framework to provide expert assessment and counselling, using a diverse range of developmentally appropriate psychosocial therapeutic interventions. These services address both the complex psychological impact of torture and trauma, along with addressing the many challenges our clients face in terms of the broader social and economic determinants of mental health.

Your role will also involve a range of advocacy including liaison and facilitated referrals with relevant health, community, education, and legal services.

We look for Counsellor Advocates who are committed to advancing human rights and are passionate about supporting trauma recovery for refugee background individuals and families. Regular supervision, guidance and professional development support is provided to assist you in undertaking your work as a Counsellor Advocate and to support high quality services to our clients.

• Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments with individuals and families to develop clear formulations and client-centred therapeutic goals.
• Conduct risk assessments and establish and implement risk management and safety plans where indicated.
• Provide developmentally appropriate trauma-informed and trauma-focused counselling and therapeutic interventions using a range of evidence-based modalities.
• Provide psychoeducation in individual, family and group settings.
• Identify critical issues clients experience that are affecting their sense of wellbeing, mental health and safety, and develop strategies for responding to those issues. You'll join a close-knit clinic team delivering high-quality ultrasound services to the people of Dubbo and the wider Western NSW region. Your day will include:

Proactive Health is a national ecosystem of over 40 allied health businesses across 350+ locations in Australia. We bring independent clinic owners together under a shared commitment to clinical excellence, giving them the governance, development infrastructure and operational support of a large network while keeping the personalised, community-driven care that smaller practices do so well.

Our clinics run as genuine multidisciplinary teams. Exercise physiologists work alongside physiotherapists, podiatrists, occupational therapists, dietitians and social workers, coordinating care and learning from each other day to day.

We service clients across DVA, Medicare (EPC), NDIS, Home Care Packages, private health and workers' compensation - one of the most diverse and clinically rich caseloads an EP can have.

Here's the shape of it. This is a four-day-a-week role to start, with a strong chance it grows to full time before long - the demand's heading that way. We're after an experienced EP who's comfortable running their own caseload and working independently. Someone we can trust with real autonomy from day one, rather than a clinician who needs close supervision to find their feet.

Sunbury sits about 40 minutes north-west of the Melbourne CBD in the City of Hume, right where the city starts to give way to the Macedon Ranges. It's one of Melbourne's fastest-growing communities - around 42,000 people now and tracking toward 100,000 over the next couple of decades - with the metro line running straight into the city and the airport barely twenty minutes down the road. It's held onto its country-town main street and its wineries while new estates keep going up around the edges. That's exactly the kind of growth that drives steady, rising demand for allied health.

Your caseload will be genuinely varied - DVA veterans, NDIS participants with physical and psychosocial disabilities, Medicare EPC referrals for conditions like diabetes, COPD and cardiovascular disease, and aged care clients working to stay independent at home. A young, fast-growing family community also brings a solid stream of chronic disease and musculoskeletal work through the door.

Tom Kearney leads the team here and backs experienced clinicians to get on with the job. The support's there when you want it - peer review, CPD, a network of EPs to lean on - without anyone looking over your shoulder. Tom is a great guy and really looks after his team.

And the lifestyle stacks up. Housing sit well below the Melbourne median, the Macedon Ranges wine country and weekend walks are on your doorstep, and you're close enough to the city to have the best of both. For an experienced EP who wants autonomy, a growing caseload and room to shape a role as it builds to full time, this one's worth a look.

You'll work across a broad spectrum of funding streams and patient demographics, delivering individualised, evidence-based exercise programs covering chronic conditions, post-surgical rehabilitation, functional capacity building and more. It's the kind of varied, growing caseload that keeps experienced clinicians engaged.

Significant engagement with DVA clients means meaningful work supporting veterans with complex needs, alongside cases funded through Medicare, NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers' compensation and private sources. You'll have the independence to run it your way, with a national network behind you.

A typical week involves initial assessments, home and community visits, and individual or small group sessions built around tailored interventions that move the needle for clients. You'll coordinate with a multidisciplinary team - physiotherapists, OTs and others - so care stays joined up, while owning your own diary and caseload.

Day-to-day, you'll be:

• Conducting comprehensive assessments incorporating functional testing and health screening

• Designing and implementing tailored exercise programs across multiple settings
• Managing a diverse caseload spanning DVA, Medicare (EPC), NDIS, Home Care Packages, workers' compensation and private clients
• Delivering individual and group exercise sessions suited to varied clinical needs
• Working closely with other allied health professionals and GPs to keep care comprehensive
• Monitoring client progress and adjusting programs to hit clinical goals
• Maintaining detailed, compliant clinical documentation
• Educating clients on lifestyle changes and self-management strategies

• ESSA accreditation as an Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP), or eligibility for accreditation
• A recognised tertiary qualification in Exercise Physiology or Clinical Exercise Physiology
• Current professional indemnity and public liability insurance (or willingness to obtain)
