We currently have a part-time (0.8 EFT) fixed term, parental leave backfill position within our Adult & Family team in our Sunshine office.
Some key responsibilities include:- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments with individuals and families to develop clear formulations and client-centred therapeutic goals.
- Conduct risk assessments and establish and implement risk management and safety plans where indicated.
- Provide developmentally appropriate trauma-informed and trauma-focused counselling and therapeutic interventions using a range of evidence-based modalities.
- Provide psychoeducation in individual, family and group settings.
- Identify critical issues clients experience that are affecting their sense of wellbeing, mental health and safety, and develop strategies for responding to those issues. This will include making referrals and undertaking advocacy with relevant health, community, education, legal services and government agencies.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling, or other related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience and expertise in counselling, preferably in a similar trauma recovery context or another area of trauma-focused service provision.
- Demonstrated experience conducting psychosocial assessments and risk assessments of adults and families.
- Ability to write high quality professional psychosocial reports for a variety of key stakeholders, including legal and government bodies.
- Good understanding of how to negotiate and advocate with multiple service systems in Victoria to support the needs of clients and their families.
- Ability to work in a cross-cultural context including working with interpreters.

Job DescriptionOur MBCP program provides specialised support to men who use violence against woman, children and their immediate family. This role requires a well-rounded knowledge, understanding and experience in the family violence sector that will support the MBCP program.
The MBC Practitioner is responsible for providing direct service provision to men who have uses violence and abuse in their intimate and family relationships. This will include assessment both in a group context and individually, facilitation of the 20-week MBC Program, Individual reviews with clients and some case management.

About youTo be successful in your application, you will need to meet the requirements below:
- Appropriate tertiary qualification/s pertaining to specific discipline/designation
- Experience facilitating groups and 1:1
- Experience and expertise in the delivery of a broad range of evidence based therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to CBT, DBT, ACT.
- Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
- Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and patient focused
- Experience in trauma therapy and a good knowledge of Attachment Theory.
Experience and/or knowledge in treatment of addiction (desirable)
For Social WorkersMembership with the AASW with Mental Health Accreditation.
For Occupational Therapists- Mental Health Accreditation and registered with AHPRA
- Master or Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.
- Recognised endorsement of Clinical Psychology practice with AHPRA.
- Psychology Board of Australiaapproved supervisor (desirable)
