The Team

The Department of Health seeks a highly motivated and experienced Radiation Therapist for this key leadership position at the WP Holman Clinic, Hobart, Tasmania. The Clinic has 2 Varian linear accelerators, Canon CT simulator, Eclipse planning system and a Gulmay superficial x-ray unit. Radiation Therapy techniques currently in use at the WP Holman Clinic include IGRT, VMAT, DIBH, SBRT & SRT.

The Holman Clinic is part of the Cancer and Blood Services stream at the Royal Hobart Hospital, which provides an integrated radiation therapy, medical oncology and haematological service to Southern Tasmania.

The Role

The Senior Radiation Therapist will act as Team Leader in charge of a radiation therapy treatment unit or planning section.

They will utilise broad knowledge and advanced skills to resolve novel and complex problems in the radiation therapy

treatment and planning areas.

You will need

• Extensive experience and demonstrated knowledge and skill relating to all areas of contemporary Radiation Oncology
• Ability to work constructively as a team leader with the capacity to direct, guide and support staff.
• Ability to undertake novel and complex radiation therapy work, with a high degree of efficiency and effectiveness.
• To adhere to the organisations CARE Values - Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Excellence.

About the opportunity

The Occupational Therapy department at WMH offers a supportive environment that promotes a culture of learning and development, with various opportunities for career progression. A Grade 3 OT will be responsible for ensuring high‑quality service delivery, including assessment, intervention planning, and evaluation of outcomes. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the role will contribute to the effective operation of the department through leadership in quality improvement initiatives, resource development and coordination, and maintaining well‑organised and safe therapy environments.

Your part in our Blue Care team

You'll provide holistic, integrated care to our clientsenhancing their mobility and movement to promote their independence and wellbeing. Working with a number of movement conditions associated with musculoskeletal impairments, medical conditions and chronic disease, you will tailor your care to make a real difference in your client's quality of life!

You'll have the opportunity to develop new treatment programs, helping clients to manage their movement, pain, balance and manual handling. This will include:

• Diagnosing, assessing and developing care plans for individuals and groups
• Prescription and selection of appropriate adaptive equipment and modification
• Education and training on aspects of therapy for the clients and carers
• Goal setting activities, as well discharge and resolution planning
• Liaising with healthcare professionals, such as GPs, nurses and occupational therapists to ensure care plans are formulated and monitored
